Here’s the PERFECT BOILED EGG!
Prep time: 1 min | Cook time: 5-7 mins | Serves: 1
Ingredients:
2 large Country Lane Free-Range Eggs (room temperature is best!)
2 slices of thick white or seeded bread
Butter for spreading
A pinch of sea salt and black pepper
Method:
Get the water ready: Bring a small saucepan of water to a rolling boil. There should be enough water to completely cover the eggs.
The gentle drop: Turn the heat down slightly to a simmer. Using a spoon, slowly and gently lower the eggs into the water to prevent cracking.
Set the timer:
5 minutes: Very runny yolk and soft white.
6 minutes: The “Goldilocks” egg—liquid gold yolk and fully set white (perfect for dipping!).
7 minutes: Jammy, soft-set yolk.
Toast & Butter: While the eggs cook, toast your bread until golden. Butter generously and slice into “soldiers” (strips).
Serve: Remove the eggs and pop them into egg cups. Slice off the top, season with a pinch of salt and pepper, and get dipping!
